Snagging Survey for New Builds
A snagging survey (also commonly known as a new build home inspection survey) protects your investment into a new home. The inspection checks a new build property for minor faults that may need resolving prior to completion of the sale. We inspect the property externally and internally for any issues caused during the build. Snagging Surveys are an important step in the completion of the sale of your new home. When buying a new build site snagging is becoming a greater issue. There is increasing demand on builders, site managers and developers is leaving new build properties with unfinished or poor work. Completing a new build survey prior to the sale means that you, the new owner, is not left to deal with and pay for these defects.
The ideal time for a snagging survey to be conducted is before your moving day to allow for necessary building work to be discussed prior, however, they can often be completed within 2 years of the properties warranty date. Timescales can vary so we advise you to confirm this with your developer.
