Snagging Survey Eastbourne
If you are purchasing a new build home, it is best to consider a snagging survey prior to purchase. A Snagging Survey identifies unfinished work or defects within your new build home or property.
As there is a huge demand to construct new builds as quickly as possible, it often means things are missed during the construction process and there is a chance for defects to become apparent once you move in.
New Build Snagging Inspection
All unfinished work, small and large defects will be pointed out within the inspection. You will receive a full report and have peace of mind knowing the level of quality of the construction you are purchasing. The report also allows you to organise the defects to be rectified at a convenient time.
Chartered Surveyors Eastbourne
Southdown Surveyors are a RICS accredited surveying team. We have been serving East Sussex for many years offering a range of surveys and reports.
When Should a Snagging Survey be Carried Out?
We would recommend that you have the inspection completed before you move in. This means there is little disruption to you and any issues can be fixed before you move in. If this is not possible we recommended as soon as possible after your move in date. However, we can carry out the survey within 2 years of the warranty date. But please check this with your developer as their terms and conditions may differ.
What is the Process of a Snagging Survey?
Within 5 days of us inspecting the property, we will provide you with a detailed photographic report with all technical information regarding any minor or major issues with the property. We can also pass a copy of the report onto your developer or builder if you wish. We are always available to discuss any issues within the report at any point after the inspection.
What Does a Snagging Survey Cover?
Our surveyors will assess the entire internal and external elements of your property, including the electrics and plumbing. A summary of what is inspected includes:
- Build quality
- Brickwork
- Loft space
- Standard of finishing in general
- Guttering and roofing
- Plastering, paintwork and tiling
- Levelling of ceilings, walls and floors
- Groundworks
- Doors and windows
