Professional Snagging Surveys in Tunbridge Wells
Snagging inspections are specifically created for the purchase of new build properties. With the intention of identifying and resolving defects within the interior and exterior of the property. With the demand for housing increasing year on year, developments are being completed quickly which can lead to poor quality and 'snags' (defects).
A snagging survey identifies any potential defects or issues within the property. From minor decorative issues to more significant structural problems. Snagging surveys have become a vital aspect for homebuyers to safeguard themselves when making such a substantial investment.
Snagging Surveys - FAQs
All snagging surveys are undertaken by our RICS accredited Chartered Surveyors. We have been providing a range of property services to clients across Sussex and Kent since 2006. From building surveys to homebuyer reports and property valuations.
Following an initial chat, the team will arrange a convenient time and day to complete your snagging survey. After which you will receive your comprehensive snagging report, following this our Chartered Surveyors will be on hand to discuss any aspects of the inspection in more detail.
When should I have a Snagging Survey?
Our recommendation is to instruct a snagging survey before handover, as it provides you with the time for these issues to be rectified before you move in. If you have already moved into the property you can have a snagging report carried out up to 2 years of the warranty date (these time frames may differ so it is always worth double checking with your developer). During this time period the developer is required to resolve any defects reported.
What is Evaluated?
In our inspections, our surveyors utilise cutting-edge technology to detect both minor and major faults. Following this, they generate a detailed report that can also be shared with your builder if necessary.
This includes:
- Build quality
- Brickwork
- Loft space
- Plastering, paintwork and tiling
- Levelling of ceilings, walls and floors
- Groundworks
- Standard of finishing in general
- Guttering and roofing
- Doors and windows
Snagging Inspection Report
Following the survey a photographic snagging report will be produced within 5 working days of the inspection. A copy of this report will be sent to you and another directly to the builder or developer (if requested). This report will outline any minor or major defects, with technical information on the construction of the property included.
